In a city surronded by fire...

10 characters find love, or its absence, in 10 different encounters.

PHD student visits a sex worker. A compromised politician grooms his protege. Two old school friends rekindle a flame. An injured firefighter meets a bored nurse. Within a city negotiating a Summer of punishing bushfires, an uncommon group of people emerge searching for meaning and connection in a chaotic and frightening world.

Unfolding live in the unique and intimate setting at Toorak Manor, the Anthropocene Play Company brought Melbourne audiences a truly immersive experience. Characters guided audiences from room to room as each scene unfolded – the hotel itself cast in the rich emotional landscape of the play.

Performed by Jordan Fraser-Trumble, Kulan Farah, Tim Clarke, Sophie Muckart, Mikhaela Ebony, Ismail Taylor-Kamara, Sebastian Gunner, Catherine Morvell, Clare Larman, Pia O’Meadhra and Caitlin Langridge
